Lauren Geremia Bio
Part designer, part curator, Lauren Geremia is the driving visual force behind some of the Bay Area's hottest restaurants and bars. Her method of mixing eclectic textures, colors and found objects for a look that seamlessly combines old and new has made her one of the most sought-after designers in the city. Geremia's affinity for pieces of art, antiques and recycled objects, combined with a background in the fine arts, gives her what some might call an artful, or even painterly, approach to design. She has a knack for throwing symbolic pieces into the mix to add a personal touch and sense of history—and it's not unusual to find her combing through a salvage shop or junkyard to find the perfect artifact. Geremia doesn't shy away from, say, a graphic print to draw the eye upwards, or creating a bold piece of custom metalwork with local artisans. Hospitality mavens Vintage 415 tapped her to design its most recent spaces, including Taverna Aventine, Bloodhound and Umami. Geremia's work can also be seen at Mr. the Barbershop, Coffeebar, 83 Proof and 330 Ritch. Post-grad from RISD with a BFA in painting, Geremia cut her teeth styling photo shoots and helping to launch an interior design firm with a local entrepreneur before working with Sheri Sheridan and Nathan Brown at Disfigure, and ultimately launching her own successful studio, Geremia Design. Although Geremia continues to design for the hospitality industry, she is now creating interiors for fans of her commercial work. With this new arm of Geremia Design, she is offering accessible design services for those who want to live with great art and high style. Rusty Wadatz Bio
